Slate article on the ironic movie cameo.

My sidebar links to the (pro-Kerry) Electoral-Vote.com, which attempts to breakdown the electoral split polls are showing between the two candidates. Also notable is the pro-Bush equivalent at ElectionProjection.com. Though a very inexact science, as well as using somewhat different methodologies, the numbers match up well from a broad overview, implying a respect-worthy, and rare, split between personal idealogy and the data they present.

A neat little article on Slate about Isaac Asimov, and how his beliefs have been corrupted by directors such as Chris Columbus and Alex Proyas, and terrorists such as Aum Shinrikyo and, yes, al-Qaida.

Added and removed a few thing to my sidebar under politics. Wonkette for snark, The Washington Monthly for leftisty stuff, and Andrew Sullivan for the token right-winger (and it is a site I read and enjoy,) as well as a few other changes.

Title screen screenshots from way too many movies.

I've avoided discussing this whole McGreevey thing lately, cause well, I rant a bit too much abut politics, and about civil rights issues. I will say it is unfortunate this revelation was teamed with corrupt activites by a governor already much disliked and mistrusted, and those activities probably do make his resignation appropriate. That said, it is my sincere hope that someday soon "I am a gay American" will be said at the beginning of a political career, not the end. Anyway, I bring that up as I segue into my next link: Was President James Buchanan gay?

Lastly, the rather haphazard and all-over-the-place archive navigation here at Westnet is about to be in some ways replaced and in others augmented by new site-wide archives, which can be seen in a very rough form here. For the first time you can see all of one person's contributions to Westnet in one place, regardless of which of our subsections it is available at. It's still not ready to replace the archives in the sidebars in the various sections and all, but, especially if you're one of my friends who actually HAS stuff here, it is there if you want to take a look.
