Boy, that was the longest Thursday ever!
Seriously, new comic up, but it's now got it's own little area of the westfield network. I thought long and hard for a title - I HATE naming things. Honestly, I don't know how people who name their strips or fics do it. I hate it so much!
So "Not So Comical" for several reasons. I wanted something that involves the word comics, which is a big thing in the strip (Poison Elves is the book she's reading this week, in case you can't tell). Secondly, I wanted something sufficiently self-deprecating for me. And then I remembered my microbiology class. You know how sometimes people (like myself) are a little afraid of hospitals, as they believe they make you sicker? Well, that's not just a myth, there's a class of infections named after this. It's not a specific species or strain of bacteria, (although there are more common pathogens) nor does it occur in a specific place (again, there are some more common area of the body susceptible to this type of infection.). It's simply an infection that you pick up from the hospital. The name of this general-type infection? A nosocomial infection. Thousands of people die from them, and it's thought new antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria are most often picked up as a nosocomial infection.
That ain't cool. Nor is it funny. So to help myself remember the term "nosocomial" for tests, I turned it into "not so comical".
My god, I am lame.
Also, Collin and Foxman (I can't remember his name....all I can think of is "Foxman" and "Guitar rapist") are all grown up again, and I can enjoy Friendly hostility even more! Woo!
Yay! I'm in your comic!
I think.
I'm right, aren't I?
